"Scars are typically viewed negatively. They are hidden away, not displayed publicly, and are considered intensely private. I photograph these scars, which are akin to personal secrets.

Illness, injury, accidents, and war bring distress, pain, and sorrow that can abruptly enter a person's life. While we all hope to remain unscathed, we inevitably bear wounds, both seen and unseen. Tracing a finger across smooth skin, one might suddenly feel a rough patch—an irregular texture that speaks to the presence of a scar. It serves as a physical testament to the past, permanently etched into the body."
